Message That sentiment right there is why most of the sensible people on this forum roll their eyes at a 1000+ hp Z.

A streetable chassis setup is only capable of putting down so much power...anything above that is really just bragging rights. It doesn't take all that much power to run 10 second and lower ET's...people have come damn close on stock turbos.

But you also learn things about a car when you build it to that level, and hopefully that knowledge will be able to 'trickle down' to the average enthusiast. And even I, a pretty conservative car guy, have to admit that a 1000+ hp Z is pretty cool, even if it "only" runs 12's. It's not something I'd spend my own time and money on, but it's cool nonetheless.

As for the lack of respect...there's always the problem that the bigger the boast, the bigger the scrutiny. It's human nature, and not without reason. I will say that Z1 in particular seems to get a disproportionate amount of scrutiny, though they've brought a lot of it on themselves in the past, and there's a lot of stuff that has apparently happen which people on both sides refer to but never fully explain. For me, I just liek to hear about new developments and see cool cars, and the antics can be entertaining, so I won't complain.
